TikTok user stepher2302 has launched the most recent viral debate over the video sharing app, this time focusing on how to cook and serve broccoli.
TikTok is known for pitting people against each other in a variety of debates that have gone viral, often centered around some pretty ridiculous reasons and videos.
Users on TikTok are vocally divided over Couch Guy and his girlfriend, scorned ex’s melting down an engagement ring, and the infamous Doors vs Wheels debate.
Now a new debate is underway centering on everyone’s favorite green vegetable.

TikTok has sparked debates around a bizarre topic, and this one is no different.
TikTok fight over ‘hack’ broccoli
On April 4, user steph2302 posted a video that ended up throwing almost all of TikTok into a frenzied brawl.
The video is from her “lifehack” where she cooks a huge broccoli head down in a pot of water, then chops the top off, which in turn produces tons of smaller broccoli.
Steph’s comment section was immediately filled with thousands of comments arguing about keeping or throwing the stem away. The video, which now has more than 13.8 million views, has caused quite a stir.

One user commented, “The stalk, when stir-fried in garlic and fancy herbs and stuff, is the BEST.” Another added: “Lifehack?! LOL. Saved you the 20 seconds it takes to chop it. Besides, you’ve wasted the best…’
While many stem-lovers echoed their feelings, stem-averseers were shocked that someone would pick this up about broccoli stems, which is the worst.
“So many broccoli stem lovers. You should hold a raffle and email the winner the steal,” joked a TikToker.
Perhaps the best comment came from a user who was both amused and horrified as they yelled, “WHY ARE PEOPLE HERE FIGHTING ABOUT BROCCOLI!”
With over an insane 8,000 comments now, the broccoli stem debate just isn’t going to die.
As the debate continues, remember that we are talking about broccoli after all.
