I sometimes fantasize about hanging a huge painted portrait of your servant on my bedroom wall. Visitors would be required to kneel in front of the photo and leave a gift underneath as a token of respect.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to buy artwork or the skills to paint one myself. But these barriers will no longer prevent me from achieving my dream.
A team of researchers has developed a tool that will paint your portrait for you.

Called Paint Transformer, the system predicts the parameters of a stroke set with an anticipation network.
“This way our model can generate a set of strokes in parallel and get the final 512 × 512 size painting in near real time,” the researchers wrote in their study paper.
There are already many AI tools that turn photos into works of art, but this one has a unique style that could surely grace The Louvre.
You can also watch the artificial brush strokes bring the painting to life.
