If you live in Alberta or BC, you might be lucky enough to get a pretty decent Telus internet deal.
According to a post on RedFlagDeals (RFD) by “greghuston,” those living in neighborhoods that access Telus’ “PureFibre” internet may be able to get a 1Gbps plan for $70/month over a two-year term.
In the post, greghuston explains that they got Telus’ 1Gbps PureFibre internet, equipment, $150 account credit and unlimited data, all for $70 a month plus tax. They further note that the deal appears to be only available to new customers and that they got it through a special deal from a representative, not directly through Telus.
Other RFD users noted that it is common to get special offers from third-party representatives, as Telus has several companies working to expand PureFibre.
Greghuston later notes that their first statement from Telus included a $200 credit and was the correct price of $70 a month.
Overall, it definitely sounds like there’s a strong ‘your mileage may vary’ element here, but anyone lucky enough to get an offer like this might want to take it. Now looking at Telus’s website, there is an offer for PureFibre 1 Gbps internet starting at $89 per month (including a $10 discount for being a Telus or Koodo mobility customer) and a $50 account credit for online orders. $70/month with $200 credit is a lot better.
