New Surface Pro 8 and Surface Book 2 firmware updates improve performance and stability





Microsoft has released a series of new firmware updates for its Surface Pro 8 and Surface Book 2. The November 2021 updates bring stability, reliability and security improvements for both Surface models.

For Surface Pro 8 owners, these firmware updates aim to address various aspects of the experience, including some improvements to Type Cover fingerprint login reliability and graphics performance. There are also additional improvements for touchscreen stability and inking experience. You can find the full release notes below:

In addition, second generation Surface Book PCs also receive new firmware updates to improve security as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Here’s what you should see in Windows Update:

As usual, the November 2021 firmware updates for Surface Pro 8 and Surface Book 2 will be rolling out in phases, so you might not get the new bits right away. Earlier this month, Microsoft also released a new set of updates for Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Studio PCs.
