Nametag Expands Biometric ID Document Verification Capabilities, Certified for Data Security

Nametag says businesses using their “Sign in with ID” biometric selfie solution can now provide digital identity verification for account recovery or access for people from anywhere in the world.

The artificial intelligence-based system could be used to verify thousands of government-issued identity documents, the company announced, in about 250 countries and territories. ID document scans are followed by submitting a selfie for biometric comparison. The solution also supports selective disclosure.

The company built its own industry standards for Multi-Factor Identity technology, including OAuth and OpenID Connect 2.0, and offers pre-built libraries and SDKs for easy integration with any platform, website, and mobile app.

Commenting on this new milestone, Aaron Painter, CEO of Nametag, said: “Being able to continuously verify a person’s real identity online is a critical step in making the digital world more secure. With current authentication methods, companies often struggle to verify account ownership, especially when a user is locked out or needs support. Other approaches in the marketplace only verify identity once when an account is created, putting users at greater risk by relying on traditional credentials afterwards.”

The new capabilities come at a time when Nametag has also earned security accreditation upon completion of the SOC 2 Type 1 certification process. The assessment, the announcement explains, evaluates how the company’s internal controls affect the security, availability and processing integrity of the systems it uses to process user data, as well as the confidentiality and privacy of the biometric data and other digital information it uses. through the systems.

Nametag says its solutions are used by global telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, information technology, education, nonprofit and hosting companies.

The Login with ID solution was launched earlier this year to provide passwordless logins with biometrics.
