Lenovo most flexible consumer brand receives a host of new tweaks and features in 2022 that include new screen sizes, GPUs, processors, and connections.
Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5
Starting at $499.99
Lenovo’s IdeaPad line up offers perhaps the widest range of configurations for customers that include Windows 11 or ChromeOS operating systems as well as chip variants such 12th Gen Intel Core U-Series or AMD Ryzen 7 processors.
GPU set ups for the Flex 5 support AMD Radeon graphics or Iris-Xe Max.
The IdeaPad Flex 5 and 5i come with both 14 and 16-inch variants with optional E-color pens and reduced bezels for a 90 percent screen to body ratio when viewing in traditional clamshell or tablet modes.
The displays on both the 14 and 16-inch can be configured up to 2.8K on a 16:10 aspect ratio and powered OLED technology supported by 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and 400 nits of brightness.
When it comes to ports, the Flex 5-Series offers Type-C without Thunderbolt 4 support, full HDMI, 4-in-1 card reader, and mic/audio combo jack.
Each Flex 5 can be configured with up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage.
AMD and Intel variants of the Flex 5 will begin shipping May 2022 as well as the Flex 3i Chromebook variant and the 5i Chromebook option following in June 2022.
Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming

Lenovo introduced two new super-noob consumer gaming rigs by the names of IdeaPad Gaming 3i and Gaming 3 that come in at 15 and 16-inch screen sizes and 16:10 aspect ratios with WQHD panel options. The new laptops introduce a muted gaming aesthetic with color highlights only displaying on the vent panel behind the computer.
Lenovo is packing the gaming rigs with 165Hz refresh rate screens for both Intel 12 Gen chips up to Core i7 H-series and AMD Ryzen 6000 Series configurations.
Gamers can also pair the IdeaPad Gaming rigs with up to NVIDIA GeForce 3060 Laptop GPU or an option to try out Intel’s Arc GPU for the first time.
Intel claims its improved airflow efficacy by an additional 10 percent from its other cooling architectures.
Other niceties of the IdeaPad Gaming rig include an Nahimic Audio 3D Sound System, optional 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard, 1080P FHD webcam and Xbox Game Pass via Lenovo partnership with Microsoft.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and 3i begin shipping May 2022 for the 15-inch model and June 2022 for the 16-inch.
Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 and 5i
Starting at $399.99
Once again, Lenovo combines branding for dual operating system devices with Duet 3 (Chromebook) and the 5i (Windows) detachable tablet computers.
Starting with the Duet 3 Chromebook, buyers are getting spec upgrades to the 11-inch tablet computer that comes in with a fanless 7.9mm thick chassis slab running Snapdragon’s 7 c Gen 2 computer platform.
With a Snapdragon processor in Duet 3, Lenovo is claiming up to 12 hours of streaming video battery life. The Duet 3 comes in Misty Blue and Storm Gray color options as well as an anti-pry and water-resistant key detachable keyboard with pen support, two USB-C ports, 5MP front facing camera and 8MP rear cam setup.
As with most detachables the new keyboard cover doubles as a stand and folio case for protecting Duet 3.
On the Windows side of things, the screen of the Duet 5i is bumped up to 12-inches, bumps up the size to 9.45mm thickness and sports a 2.5K IPS touchscreen and 16:10 aspect ratio with support for 96 percent DCI p3 color gamut and 450 nits’ brightness.
Instead of Qualcomm, the Duet 5i sports Intel’s 12th generation with dual channel memory, Wi-Fi 6, Lenovo’s Smart Login technology with 5M infrared (IR) camera, and Rapid Charge Express technology.
The Duet 3 will begin shipping in May 2022 while the Duet 5i ships later in the year in July 2022.
Lenovo Tab M10 Plus (3rd Gen)
Starting at $189.99
Last up is Lenovo’s pure tablet effort in the Tab M10 Plus that gets a 10.6-inch 2K IPS LCD display with slimmer bezels for up to 85 percent screen-to-body ratios pushing up to 400 nits of brightness.
Customers can configure their Tab M10 Plus with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The Tab M10 Plus runs on Android 12 OS with Lenovo promising “updates to come”.
At 465g, the sleek Tab M10 Plus pushes 12 hours of video playback on a 7700mAh battery and optional Lenovo Precision Pen 2 technology that supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt modes.
The Tab M10 Plus will come in two color options and starts shipping June 2022 in most markets.
