kgbvs: an Ai-driven app to mark attendance at Kgbvs | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: Forget biometrics or age-old attendance records, now AI-based facial recognition technology used for seamless passage through international airports will be introduced to mark attendance at 20 Kasturba Gandhi Awasiya Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in from next week. The technology which is also trending in graduate schools in the United States and Japan will be implemented for the first time in the Prayagraj district.
Basic education department officials said the facial recognition-based attendance system will be rolled out through a mobile app, which has photographs and student details integrated into the database.
The attendance authority will click on a photo of the students and the application will recognize and mark their attendance and save the details on a computer server. The new technology will ensure transparency by recording the attendance of over 2,000 female students and teaching staff at 20 KG Awasiya Valika Vidhyalayas. Each system costs around Rs 12,000.
Basic Shiksha Akhikari (Prayagraj) Praveen Kumar Tiwari told TOI that the AI-based system involved a server with student details, a face reading mobile app and a message delivery setup.
