JCCPD seeks public assistance in robbery investigation

WILLIAMSBURG – The James City County Police Department (JCCPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a major robbery.

The incident happened at the Michaels craft store, located at 5225 Settler’s Market Boulevard.

On December 17, 2021, three individuals entered Michaels and were caught by store employees who found the individuals attempting to remove the security locks from four Cricut Maker 3 machines and one Cricut Explorer 3 machine. were then enticed to leave the store.

Three days later, two of the original three people returned to the store where they stole three of the Cricut Maker 3 craft cutting machines. Each of the machines is said to be worth $399.99.

According to a JCCPD statement, “Subjects reportedly left the area in a dark blue Buick Enclave (or similar) which may have had a [North Carolina] numberplate.”
