Have you received a Google Play gift card from someone? If so, you will need to redeem it on your account before you can use funds from the card. We’ll show you how to do just that on your desktop and Android device.
Be sure to find the unique code on the card, as you will need it no matter which method you choose.

What can you buy with a Google Play Card?
You can use a Google Play Card to purchase various items from the Google Play Store. These items include apps, movies, books, subscriptions, and more. Google has a list of region-specific items that can be purchased with these cards. You can also make in-app purchases with a Google Play Card.
However, keep in mind that you cannot use this card to make purchases on sites other than Google Play Store, such as Amazon. If you are using an Amazon Fire tablet, remember that it is possible to install the Google Play Store.
Basically, when you use your card, the funds are credited to your Google Play account. You can then use these funds wherever the store allows.
Redeem a Google Play card on computer
To credit funds from your card to your account from your computer, use the Google Play website.
Start by launching your favorite web browser and navigating to Google Play. Log in to your account on the site if you haven’t already.
Once logged in, in the left sidebar of Google Play, select “Use”.
A “Redeem Code” window will open. Here, click on the text field and type or paste your unique gift card code. Then click on the “Exchange” button.
Google Play will open a “Confirm Account” window. Here, make sure the correct account is selected for fund credit. Then choose “Confirm”.
Your gift card will be redeemed and you will see a “Redeem successful” message. You’ll also see your gift card balance as well as your total Google Play balance.
Close the message box by clicking “Understood”.
And that’s all. You can now go ahead and buy your favorite items from the store using the newly available funds. Enjoy!
Using a Google Play Card on Android
You can also use your Android phone to redeem your gift cards. To do this, first launch the Google Play Store app on your phone.
In the top right corner of the store, tap your profile icon.
In the profile menu, choose “Payments and subscriptions”.
Select “Use Gift Code”.
On the “Redeem a gift card or promo code” screen where you arrive, tap the text field and enter your unique gift card code. You can also scan your gift card using your phone’s camera by tapping the “Scan Gift Card” option.
Once the code has been entered, at the bottom of the screen, press “Redeem”.
Google Play will display the account your funds will be credited to. If this is correct, press “Confirm”.
You’ll see a “Used Successfully” message, indicating that your gift card funds are now available in your account. Close the message box by tapping “Understood”.
And you are ready.
