Google Drive sometimes shows a “drive.google.com refused to connect” error, which is usually the result of an account permission conflict. You can work around this problem using different methods, which we will explain to you.

Solution 1: Use an incognito window in your web browser
A quick way to fix the Google Drive connection error is to use your web browser’s incognito window (also known as the incognito window). This isolates your connected Google accounts and ensures that you only use the account intended for your work. However, this is a temporary solution; your Google login in the incognito window will not be remembered after you exit.

To launch an incognito window in Chrome, in the upper right corner of the browser, select the three dots.
From the three-dot menu, choose “New incognito window”.
In the window that opens, navigate to Google Drive and sign in to the account you want to use. Your Drive refusing to connect error is now resolved.
Solution 2: Sign out of multiple Google accounts
Another workaround is to sign out of all your Google accounts in your web browser. This solves the conflict issue, as you will only have one active Google account at a time when accessing Drive.
To sign out of all Google accounts in your browser, first launch the Google Drive site in your web browser.
In the upper right corner of Drive, click your Google profile icon.
In the menu that opens, select “Log out of all accounts”.
When signed out, launch Google Drive and sign in to the account you want to use to access your files.

Solution 3: Create and use a new user profile in your web browser
If you don’t want to sign out of multiple Google Accounts from your web browser, use a different browser profile to sign in and use your primary Google Account.

To do this in Chrome, in the upper right corner of the browser, click the profile icon.
From the profile menu, choose “Add”.
You will see a large window open on your screen. Here, select “Login”. Then sign in to your main Google account.
When you are logged in, open Drive and you will have access to all your files without any problem. You are ready.
