Enron Trader tapes available on the web: NPR

Audio tapes showing how Enron executives manipulated the energy market and drove prices up are not allowed in the ongoing lawsuit against former Enron executives Kenneth Lay and Jeffery Skilling — but they are already available on the web.

Alex Chadwick talks to Eric Christiansen, assistant general counsel for the Snohomish County Public Utilities District in Washington state, about the recording of the incriminating phone calls. Christiansen fought to get hold of the tapes, then made them available to the public — and the US Department of Justice.
