DoControl Secures $30 Million Series B to Redefine SaaS Data Security

Series B led by Insight Partners helps companies prevent SaaS data breaches and accelerate DoControl growth

NEW YORKApr 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — doControlthe automated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) security company, today announced that it has a $30 million Series B financing round led by New York-based global private equity and venture capital firm, Insight Partners, with the participation of existing investors including StageOne Ventures, Cardumen Capital, RTP Global and CrowdStrike’s early stage investment fund, the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund. DoControl’s new funding is a testament to its rapid corporate adoption and ability to prevent data loss without slowing business activation. The Series B will help the company scale its SaaS data security innovations, launch strategic channel and partnership programs, and drive its global growth.

DoControl reduces the risk of costly data breaches caused by unmanageable data in popular SaaS applications. Gartner estimates SaaS spending will exceed Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) spending by 41% by 2022. Accelerated SaaS adoption, the growing complexity of SaaS ecosystems, and the lack of granular, automated access control expose organizations to unauthorized and undetected data exfiltration. DoControl leverages user interactions and API access in SaaS applications and fuels it all with powerful no-code workflows that automatically identify, respond to and remediate threats resulting from SaaS data policy violations. The mission-critical SaaS data access control solution effectively eliminates the business threats caused by employee departures, third-party vendors, team collaboration, and more.

“SaaS is the new IaaS when it comes to the complexities of security controls and data access exposure. Recent high-profile attacks, such as the alleged breaches of Okta, HubSpot, and Twitter, started or continued through abuse of access control, resulting in unauthorized access to the Crown Jewels – sensitive customer data,” said Adam Gavish, Co-Founder and CEO, DoControl. “As data is the new oil, security teams understand that they now need to extend their Zero Trust architecture from the identity and network to the SaaS data layer. We are excited to partner with Insight Partners on this shared mission and more organizations worldwide to help prevent data breaches through security automation.”

“Every modern business faces the risk of uncontrollable SaaS data access, with sensitive company, employee and customer data stored in popular business applications. DoControl offers a rare combination of asset management, security automation and remediation that reduces the risk of exposure caused by a lack of SaaS data protection capabilities,” said Stephen Ward, director at Insight Partners. “During my time as a CISO, I recognized the importance of technology that addresses these issues quickly and effectively, so we are proud to partner with DoControl as they continue to grow.”

Insight Partners’ investment will enable DoControl to double its workforce and increase its go-to-market penetration in the United States and further. DoControl will also develop a national channel partner program to enable MSPs, resellers and other key partners to provide Zero Trust SaaS data access control capabilities to a wider user base. Most importantly, DoControl will use its funding to develop innovations that meet the needs of modern businesses that rely on SaaS tooling, while expanding use cases into new verticals.
