The OPPO Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro are confirmed to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, 80W fast charging support, a 4,500mAh battery, and Android 12 OS. Ahead of the launch, here’s a quick round-up of the OPPO Reno 8 and OPPO Reno 8 Pro specifications, price, design and more.

India launch date

OPPO Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro will launch in India on July 18th at 6:00 PM IST. The event should be held online and will be live-streamed on the company’s official YouTube channel.

Design

OPPO Reno 8 Pro: Talking about the design, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro has a centre-positioned punch hole cutout for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels. It has flat edges and not curved edges and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The volume rocker is on the left edge, while the power button is placed on the right spine. On the back, there is the rear camera module that houses triple camera sensors with an LED flash. The rear lenses will be powered by Marisilicon’ text.

OPPO Reno 8: The Reno 8 is also identical to the Reno 8 Pro. The main difference is that the punch-hole cutout is present at the top-left corner. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor as well and flat edges. The display size is slightly smaller than the Reno 8 Pro.

Price in India

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro price in India is said to be Rs 52,990 initially for the high-end 12GB + 256GB model but later it was corrected to Rs 44,990. Besides the high-end 12GB option, it will be available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB options. We can speculate the base variant could start at Rs 39,000 mark.

On the other hand, the standard OPPO Reno 8 price is said to be Rs 29,990 for the 8GB + 128GB, the 8GB + 256GB is said to cost Rs 31,990 and lastly, the 12GB + 256GB model could be priced at Rs 33,990. These prices have been tipped by leakster Sudhanshu Ambhore.

OPPO Reno 8 has a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The handset is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It boots Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 skin out of the box.

Reno 8

The OPPO Reno 8 will have an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. As for the battery, it has a 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

Moving to optics, the OPPO Reno 8 features a triple camera array at the back, with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 2MP B&W sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. There is a 32MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max processor paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone boots Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 skin out of the box.

Moving to optics, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro will have a triple rear camera setup powered by a Marisilicon lens. It has a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.

The Reno 8 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint reader for security. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type-C port for charging and data sync. A 4,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging fuels the phone.
