Cork data center company creates 30 new jobs

Edpac, an Irish manufacturer of data center cooling equipment, is looking to fill 30 new positions after it was acquired by the Munters Group earlier this year for €29 million.

The company, based in Carrigaline, Co Cork, will change its name to Munters from Monday.

It said it is actively recruiting staff and the vacancies will be filled within 12 months. Electricians, operators and project managers are among the roles currently being recruited into the manufacturing facility.

Edpac’s client list includes some of the largest hyperscale and co-location data center providers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It has been a manufacturing partner for Munters’ Oasis systems for a number of years.

Munters, headquartered in Sweden, is a supplier of climate control products for energy-efficient cooling products for data centers in North America.

Munters CEO Klas Forsström said the deal with Edpac further strengthens its presence in Europe. “The European data center market is a priority segment for Munters and the acquisition is an important step in our growth strategy,” he said.
