Capcom postpones weird Pragmata game to 2023

Pragmata, Capcom’s high-profile sci-fi adventure for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, will now launch in 2023, the publisher said on Wednesday. No one knows what it is yet, but we’ll find out next year.

On the surface, Pragmata features a barefoot girl who wears a puffy blue parka and lives on the moon. You’d be forgiven for thinking this is a Hideo Kojima joint, but Capcom has announced Pragmata in June 2020 and initially gave it a launch window in 2022.

The delay is necessary, Capcom said, “to ensure that it will be an unforgettable adventure.”

Wednesday’s news eerily confirms an announcement Sony made in January, when a video presentation the company showed at CES 2021 said the game will now launch in 2023.

Capcom hasn’t given any further guidance on what we’re expecting, but they’ve released a theatrical-style poster showing Pragmata‘s Puffy Parka Girl under an MCP cone with AI-like gibberish to decode.
