A few interesting job postings have recently appeared on Bandai Namco’s website involving what appears to be a remaster or remake of a 3D action game in collaboration with Nintendo.
the first post is for a planner, who explicitly mentions that the project is a 3D action game under contract with Nintendo. Similar language is then displayed on a page regarding Bandai Namco’s search for a visual artist. For the final listwe see the first mention of the title being a remaster/remake, with the staffer forced to work on the HD remastering of the 3D backgrounds.
bandai namco and Nintendo have enjoyed a close relationship over the years. Most notably, the two reunited for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS as well as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The company has also contributed to Mario Kart 8 and ARMS. Finally, Bandai Namco developed Pokken Tournament and New Pokemon Snap.
If the upcoming project is a simple remaster, we might see the game’s visuals improved and maybe some additional features. A proper remake might involve a more extensive overhaul.
Due to the limited information we have, it would be difficult to speculate which 3D action game remaster/remake Bandai Namco might be working in partnership with Nintendo. However, if you want to throw a guess, feel free to do so in the comments.
