Smart security cameras have always suffered from one major limitation: the need for a Wi-Fi connection. The new Arlo Go 2 LTE/Wi-Fi security camera doesn’t have that limitation. This smart security camera is designed to monitor locations such as a vacation home or remote construction site where Wi-Fi is not always available. It works with a 4G LTE mobile data plan to provide continuous connectivity without interruptions.
The Arlo Go 2 is powered by a removable, rechargeable battery that eliminates the need for cords and wiring. This makes it ideal for out-of-the-way installations, allowing you to more effectively hide your security camera out of sight. It also has a weather-resistant design, meaning it can work just as well both outdoors and indoors.
If you don’t have an Arlo Secure subscription, you can save footage locally on the device for later viewing. Using a microSD card means you can save a lot of footage before it’s removed for new coverage – perfect if you’re away from a location for an extended period of time.
The Arlo Go 2 includes two-way audio, so you can hear and speak to visitors in clear sound quality. Ideal for helping guests to find a holiday home, for example if you rent it through Airbnb or another service. Thanks to the integrated spotlight, you can also distinguish more details at night.
The camera streams and records at 1080p and uses a 130-degree field of view to let you see more of your property. If you see someone snooping around who hasn’t been invited, you can set off a siren to deter an intruder. If you happen to misplace your camera (or possibly hide it too well), GPS positioning can help you locate it.
Every purchase of the Go 2 includes a three-month trial period for Arlo Secure. This subscription service offers 30 days of rolling cloud storage, personalized notifications, and Arlo’s 24/7 Emergency Response feature. This feature directs firefighters, police or emergency services to the location of a camera with just one touch.
The Arlo Go 2 is available nationwide through Verizon starting today for $250, with additional partners coming next year.
