Back in January, Arcade1Up announced arguably their best line of retro arcade cabinets, and after some delays, our favorite of the bunch is finally here. Yes, we are talking about the Arcade1Up dragon’s lair machine.

It’s one of those games that everyone has played at some point, being ported to console after console, not to mention turning into TV series and comic books. Of course, the 1983 original dragon’s lair The Arcade Cabinet is what started it all, allowing us to slay dragons for a quarter at a time, and that’s what you can buy today.

For those who don’t know, Arcade1Up builds retro arcade machines from the good old days, only in slightly smaller sizes and at a price affordable enough that you can throw one in your house, your man cave or your playroom.

We were happy to see dragon’s lair under construction, a retro cabinet that the company says shines with nostalgia and is the closest replica. Everything about it screams 1980s. From the bright marquee up top, the iconic hand-drawn graphics of the original machine, and even faux quarter slits on the front.

If you’re like the writers here at ReviewGeek and already own a few Arcade1Up cabinets, you’ll be happy to see that this features a different design than the others. The shape, angles and control station are all very different from other machines offered by the company and match those of the original when we were all children.

And while the original dragon’s lair is the obvious draw here, it’s one of those cabinets that comes with multiple games. It will also come with tracking Dragon Lair’s 2and ace of space. Even better, Arcade1Up says the original 4 by 3 HD transfer of the original arcade game is also there.

Basically, any dragon’s lair fans will love this retro piece of furniture. It’s available today for $649, early birds can get $50 off, and it’ll start shipping later this summer. Grab yours from the buy box below.
