Amazon and Olive team up to bring cloud automation to 950 hospitals

Olive has unveiled a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services to use AWS’ cloud computing to make its healthcare platform faster and more affordable for 950 hospitals in 40 states.

Four things to know:

  1. Olive’s health IT platform is hosted by AWS’ cloud and connects data between healthcare systems, payers and patient information, according to an Aug. press release. The HIPAA-compliant platform automates administrative tasks for healthcare providers in more than 950 hospitals nationwide, including more than 20 of the top 100 U.S. health systems, the press release said.
  2. Using AWS analytics, database, storage and computing services, Olive is working to update the way healthcare information is shared and optimized. Long wait times, hasty appointments, high healthcare costs and challenging claim processes are direct symptoms of the healthcare sector working on outdated technology, according to the press release.
  3. Olive and AWS partner with builders and developers through AWS + Olive Helps. The partnership will strive to provide clinicians with real-time data and task-specific information.
  4. “AWS helps Olive connect the disparate systems used by healthcare organizations to give healthcare providers greater visibility to make faster, more informed decisions,” said Patrick Combes, global healthcare and life sciences technical leader at AWS. “AWS provides the security, scalability and availability to enable Olive to accelerate the pace of innovation and discover new ways to reduce pressure on healthcare providers so they can focus on delivering better patient care and experiences.”
