Airbnb plastered with “Trump 2024” on Building Shocks Internet: “I would leave”

A TikToker and his friends stopped by their Airbnb to find it was pasted with the wording “Trump 2024” on the side of the building, sparking internet shock.

The TikTok recounting the situation, captioned “But why the reviews say nothing…”, has been viewed 4.2 million times and liked 833,900 times since it was shared on March 6.

The short five-second clip shared by TikToker @nickislane began with a glimpse of the exterior of Airbnb, which featured gray exterior walls with red trim.

President Donald Trump served as President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. He lost the 2021 election in a bid for re-election, losing to President Joe Biden. In a recent NBC News poll, it was found that Trump is viewed positively or favorably with 36% of respondents, while 50% hold negative and unfavorable views of him.

“Just checked into our Airbnb,” the viral clip reads onscreen with snow on the ground.

The exterior of the house featured the words “Trump 2024” in blue, red and white, and the words were written on the side of the building. The house also sported other phrases like: “One nation under God!”

Some of the words were cut off by a waving flag, although “We’ll keep fighting – without fear!” was also written on the wall. Below the statement on Trump, painted directly on the house were the words “Trust in our constitution”.

The screen then flipped to show the TikToker and his friends sitting in the car looking surprised. Some put their hands to their mouths while others also laughed as the music played.

However, in an update, the video creator revealed that there was a happy ending to the situation when the TikToker and his friends made new friends who were also staying at the same Airbnb.

‘Update: What was once a bunch of liberal strangers all stuck in an Airbnb owned by a Trump supporter…turned out to be the start of a beautiful friendship,’ the screen reads. again showing the exterior of the house.

“Note: The friends in question are not Trump supporters. None of us knew about the mural when it arrived! We were all snowbound and bound in chaos,” the screen continued overlaying text.

The original video was released first before more content of the new friends hanging out was shown associated with the song I’m your friend by Randy Newman.

Over 11,000 comments were received on the content and people were genuinely shocked by the mural pasted on the house. Many disapproved of the decor choice, and they weighed in with comments.

Some people didn’t mince words with their feelings. “I would leave,” said one onlooker. “I’m not even kidding.”

While other TikTokers wondered why the mural was not advertised. “How can they leave this out of the pictures?” a viewer mentioned.

Some viewers reportedly handled the situation differently. “I would have spent a field day here until they told me to leave,” said one TikToker.

Others would not have followed their stay. “There’s no way I’m staying at this Airbnb,” a viewer revealed.

A TikToker wondered if it was a “hotel”, adding some tips. “Sleep in the car somewhere far away ladies!” they said. “With the doors locked! Maybe take turns driving to get the hell out of here!”

Another viewer said people need to ‘stop the policy from working’, adding, ‘It’s the easiest way to get a forced refund. It’s really unprofessional.’

However, not everyone was against the mural. “Love it,” admitted one TikToker. “I would pay extra for this place. I like people with common sense.”

Another viewer said the ladies should stay there, insisting “the service will be great, courteous and worth it.”

Newsweek contacted @nickislane for comment.
