8,000 households and companies in Amherstburg get fast internet

An additional 8,000 homes and businesses in Amherstburg will soon have high-speed internet thanks to an investment from Bell.

The ISP is investing $1.7 billion over two years to accelerate the expansion of its broadband fiber, 5G and nationwide networks across Canada.

The company already spends $4 billion a year expanding its broadband network.

“In addition to other high-speed internet options, we also have fiber for all residents, businesses, islanders and farms in our community,” said Mayor Aldo DiCarlo.

The project increases the city’s connectivity beyond the total number of properties.
